RUSSIA HELD BY POLAND
Two late goals earned Poland a draw against Russia in Moscow.
The game was Russia's last friendly before crucial Euro-2008
qualifiers in September.
The hosts started the game confidently and were 2-0 up before the halftime.
Dmitry Sychev opened the score on 20th minute after a good work on the
flank from Ivan Saenko.
The Nurnberg striker crossed from the right ans Sychov was there with
a firm header.
Roman Pavluchenko also scored with a header as Vasily Berezutsky won the
ball after the corner.
Pavel Pogrebnyak should have made it 3-0, however he missed a great chance
to leave the Polish slight hopes.
The guests were much livelier in the second half and drew the game scoring
twice in the final part.
Jacek Krzynovek and Jakub Blaszczykowski scored a goal each within four
minutes to keep the question marks raised whether Russia are enough good
before qualifiers against Macedonia and England.
