THE SFA have had no contact from their Welsh counterparts over a joint
bid to host Euro 2016. And they may not welcome the idea, either, after
their failed efforts to host Euro 2008 with the Irish.
Welsh FA secretary David Collins said: "It's worth investigating
if Scotland and Wales could put a bid together. We were in discussions
a few years ago for Euro 2008, but that didn't really go anywhere.
"The joint Scottish-Irish bid didn't get past first base. We can't
have a three-pronged bid, it would have to be Ireland or Scotland. Which
one? We have no preference."
