GERMANY boss Joachim Low wants his players to be fully focused on what
he regards as their toughest game in qualification for Euro 2008.
The Germans face the Czech Republic in Prague on Saturday knowing a win
would be a huge step towards qualification while a defeat would put them
under pressure for the first time in the qualifying campaign.
Germany now lead Group D only on goal difference ahead of the Czechs.
Low does not have his firstchoice squad available with injuries forcing
him to call several debutants into his party.
At the same time, many of his regular choices are not in their best form.
And according to Low, they may have their minds on other things.
He called his squad to their first training session on Monday and has
not given them a break yet.
That is set to continue until after the match in the Czech capital as
Low drills into his team the importance of this fixture.
'Some players are thinking about possible transfers or how their clubs
are going to do as the end of the Bundesliga season approaches but we
have got to ignore these things, said Low.
'I am not interested in that at all this week as we have to concentrate
on our game.
Low was keeping his cards close to his chest and not discussing the strengths
or the weaknesses of the opposition.
'We have seen some weaknesses, but if we reveal them, then their manager
has time to think about tactical changes.
'They are an attack-minded team and generally have some defensive problems
against teams who play quickly and directly.
'We have seen some areas where we can hurt them. Michael Ballack (left),
Torsten Frings and Bastian Schweinsteiger were all receiving treatment
for knocks rather than training with the rest of the squad yesterday.
All three should be fit to play but Low has worries about several other
positions, including in defence and attack.
