Russian Football Union made a number of crucial decisions yesterday.
In the first place, RFU fixed Russian Cup 2007/08 regulations.
One of the innovations concerning this point was a proposal to establish
a prize fund not only for the participants of the title match.
Besides, RFU approved all the committees responsible for conducting all
kinds of competitions.
Apart from that new disciplinary regulations were fixed for referees.
From now on referees will be banned for a month (instead of two) for two
unsatisfactory grades. However their fees will be cut by 75% which is
25% more than it used to be.
Another paper signed concerned drug tests in all Russian leagues.
In addition, a committee was formed to control the condition of the fields.
The committee is to examine playing-pitches which are in an especially
poor condition: in Khimki, Nalchik and Tomsk.
The most thorny issue on the agenda was the stadium in Khimki. The stadium
can't provide the necessary security measures when a lot of supporters
come to watch football. Because of that RFU banned Khimki to host CSKA,
Spartak, Lokomotiv, Moskva and Zenit at their stadium as these teams are
likely to draw special attention of football supporters. RFU however pledged
to help the team find a suitable replacement.
