Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic vowed on Monday to put his troubles behind
him and steer Sweden to victory over Northern Ireland in their Euro 2008
qualifier in Belfast on Wednesday.
Ibrahimovic has just been reinstated into the national squad after being
disciplined by coach Lars Lagerback for breaking team rules and returning
to their hotel at 1.15am on the eve of their game against Liechtenstein
in September.
The Inter Milan striker is adamant he did nothing wrong but has put his
bad feeling with Lagerback aside to focus on making sure Sweden maintain
their unbeaten start in Group F.
'I don't think I have done anything wrong and I am just happy to be back
in the Sweden squad again,' Ibrahimovic said.
'We have seen videos of Northern Ireland in action and they look a very
good team. They have already beaten Spain and we know it is going to be
a tough game,' he told reporters.
'We will need to look at the whole team but we know David Healy, who scored
a hat-trick at the weekend, is in good shape at the moment.'
Lagerback, whose side lead t(e group with a maximum 12 points from four
games, is expected to hand an immediate recall to Ibrahimovic, who has
scored 17 goals in 25 games for Inter this season.
'We will announce the team on the day of the game and Zlatan is available
to play again. I guess he will probably play,' Lagerbach said.
Northern Ireland, who beat Liechtenstein 4-1 away on Saturday, are second
in the group with 10 points from five matches.
