Alex McLeish believes victory over the Faroe Islands in
Toftir will help put Scotland on course to cause an upset by qualifying
for Euro 2008.
And with Lithuania to visit Hampden Park in September, McLeish believes
six points out of six will help propel the Scots back up Group B.
"We've got to win the next two games to be in a position. We realistically
have to aim for six points" - Alex McLeish
Following world champions Italy's 2-1 win in the Faroes last weekend,
the Tartan Army have seen their team fall three points off the pace.
And McLeish said: "The message is 'Get the job done'. We want a totally
professional job. We've got to win the next two games to be in a position.
We realistically have to aim for six points.
"The Faroes are defensively organised. They passed it better against Italy
than they did against Ukraine. They are growing in confidence in their
performances and they've scored in their last two games.
"When the Faroes scored a goal two or three years ago, it was hailed as
a national treasure. Now they expect to have a couple of chances. We respect
the Faroes and recognise that they believe they can cause an upset but
our players are confident and I like the experience in the team as well."
The Scots, who will be without Lee McCulloch, have been held to draws
on their last two visits to Toftir.
But they will be desperate to get back to winning ways following their
2-0 defeat at the hands of the world champions in Bari at the end of March.
