HIDDINK NOT SATISFIED WITH RESULT
Guus Hiddink assesses the results of Euro-2008 qualifier in Zagreb.
After the match Russian national side manager spoke about
his team performance against Croatia.
"This game was very useful for us", said Hiddink during the
press conference.
"Croatia are a good team and that is why they managed to control
the game during the first half."
"At the same time they didn't have many scoring opportunities but
we also failed to create any danger in front of the opponents' goal."
"However I am satisfied with the result of this match."
"For any team from our qualifying group it is difficult enough to
play in Zagreb against Croatia."
"It is absolutely normal that England and Israel celebrated the victories."
"Thus four teams still battle for two spots in the final stage of
the European championship."
"Russia stand good chances to go to Austria and Switzerland but everything
will be clear only in autumn."
"Both teams lost two important points in Zagreb but we could think
it over from different point of view."
"Many players became more experienced as in Russian championship
they don't have to face such fierce battle as matches for their national
team."
After that Guus Hiddink commented the situation to Sport Express.
"I am not very glad with our display during the first half of the
match", said Hiddink.
"If we want to play successfully in Europe we need to analyze our
performance and criticize ourselves."
