WENGER: ENGLAND STAND BETTER CHANCES
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced England are the favourites
of the coming Euro-2008 qualifier between them and Russia.
In an interview to Sport Express Wenger shared his views
on the coming clash.
"I don't think that England and Russia have to concentrate on their
face-to-face clash now," said Arsenal manager.
"The Russians have to play Macedonia first whereas the Englishmen
meet Israel."
"If favourites lose points in these matches it will completely change
the way things stand in the Group ahead of Russia-England encounter."
"Yet I must admit that this match will be crucial for the both teams
involved."
"Though loss of points in other clashes can cost dear."
"I think England stand better chances to win as they are the hosting
side."
"However, it is difficult for me to judge as I have seen very few
Russia's matches."
"Russia have not suffered a single defeat so far which means their
level is quite high."
"My recommendation to Russia will be to play in such a way that both
the players and the fans enjoy it."
"I can advise the same to the English side."
"I am not going to support any of the teams in this clash as I am
a big fan of football on the whole."
"All I want is to see a catching performance."
