Ahead of one of the key matches for the team RFU president
spoke to Sport Express and shared his impressions on the forthcoming battles
against Macedonia and England.
"Macedonia is a dangerous team and I don't think Russia are obvious
favorites of the match", said Vitaly Mutko to Sport Express.
"I think Russian players are in perfect fitness so if they play as
a team they are sure to do without problems."
"Many things have changed since Guus Hiddink took the reigns of the
Russian national team but his work is treated differently by the public."
"But at the same time not all of them understand that there are few
managers who deserve working with the national team."
"Valery Gazzaev and Yuri Semin are experienced managers but they
have already worked at the helm of the national side."
"We have young and ambitious coaches but they need to gain more experience
at first and only after that they will prove their worth."
"Result is a key factor that reflect manager's work but in this case
I am interested not in the figures on the scoreboard but in the level
of football shown by the national team."
