England's boss Steve McClaren believes the outcome of their qualifier
against England depends only on themselves.

It is common truth that England have not been showing their
best football in Euro-2008 qualifying Group E so far.
However, the side's supporters believe that the team are over the worst
and that Israel clash (England celebrated a 3:0 win) was the starting
point for England's successful run.
Though Russia are sure to do their best to snatch points from the formidable
opponents Steve McClaren seems absolutely right to think that it will
all depend on the way the Englismen play.
"I respect Russia's manager Guus Hiddink and his achievements with
different national sides as well as clubs speak for themselves,"
said Steve McClaren to Sport Express.
"Yet everything will depend on us when we play Russia: not on the
way the Russians play, not on Guus Hiddink but on the way we do it and
the support we get from our fans."
"We understand that Israel is one thing and Russia is another: they
employ different tactical schemes."
"It will be extremely difficult to break Russia's defence as they
have conceded only one goal in the qualifying round."
"I think that the game will be very tough and that there won't be
many scoring opportunities."
"Yet I hope that we will convert those opportunities that we create
and won't let the opponents do the same."
"Russia are strong as a team and they are in good shape."
"If you ask me to single out someone in particular I would name Andrei
Arshavin and Alexander Kerzhakov who score goals that help Russia win
even clashes against equal opponents."
"So Russia have good players both in defence and attack lines."
