HIDDINK: RUSSIA WILL SURPRISE FOOTBALL WORLD
Guus Hiddink comments on the Euro-2008 final stage draw that will take
place on Sunday in Switzerland.
The Russian national side manager Guus Hiddink believes
his team will be able to surprise football world next June.
"We can't influence the draw so I treat the coming procedure without
unnecessary excitement", said Guus Hiddink to Sport Express.
"We will need to analyze our future challengers in details and to
get perfectly prepared for the tournament."
"Maybe Russia are not tipped as favorites, but I am confident we
are able to surprise the world in Austria and Switzerland."
"Russia squeezed into the final stage of continental championship,
but we should go further and I hope we deserve being among sixteen best
European teams."
"As for the World Cup qualifying campaign I am hopeful Russia will
steal a spot in the knockout round."
"Of course we will try to finish the campaign on the first place
or at least on the second one."
