MUTKO EYES EURO-2008 FINALS
Vitaly Mutko comments the Euro-2008 draw results as saying Russia stand
good chances to reach knockout round.

The RFU president Vitaly Mutko spoke to Sport Express after
the Euro-2008 draw that pitted Russia with Greece, Sweden and Spain.
"I think the results of the draw are rather successful for us",
said Vitaly Mutko.
"The teams' level is equal and Russia stand good chances to leave
them behind on way to Euro play-offs."
"Of course our challengers are strong enough, but our future will
depend on the players and their form next June."
"To my mind it would be better if we play one of the strongest teams
in Europe in the first game of the tournament since it should dispose
our players for hard work."
"We will try to give players more time to get prepared for the European
tournament so that the Russian championship will take a pause at the beginning
of May."
"Ahead of the Euro-2008 finals Russia will play at least three friendly
matches."
