Spartak captain's strike was sufficient for his club to
see off Zurich as they came up against Swiss side at Luzhniki on Thursday.
The hosts showed their winning intentions early in the first half of the
game as Roman Pavlyuchenko could have opened the score in the tenth minute.
Premier Liga silver medalists stepped forward after the interval and took
the lead through Egor Titov's strike.
After the goal Spartak sat back in defense, however the Swiss champs didn't
take advantage of controlling the game they failed to trouble Stipe Pleticosa
in the home goal.
Nonetheless they are sure of a place in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 after
Sparta Praha loss to Leverkusen 1-0.
Spartak top Group E with seven points and will go into the next round
as group winners in case they beat bottom side Toulouse in their final
