CHERENKOV: I LIKE MODERN FOOTBALL
Fyodor Cherenkov visited the Sport Express editorial and shared his views
on modern football.

Spartak legendary player Fyodor Cherenkov recalled his football
career and answered the journalists' questions on the present state of
things in the Russian championship.
"Spartak style of playing football survived considerable changes
and now resembles those of past days", said Cherenkov to Sport Express.
"Of course the main merit for this achievement goes both for Stanislav
Cherchesov and Vladimir Fedotov."
"Unlike foreign specialists such as Nevio Scala and Alexander Starkov
they managed to create a modern team which attracts supporters' interest."
"As for the Russian football on a whole I can lay special mention
to such players as Roman Pavlyuchenko, Andrei Arshavin, Konstantin Zyryanov,
Igor Semshov, Igor Akinfeev and Andrei Tikhhonov."
"These players are professionals, but they have to bear psychological
pressure that is much stronger than in past days."
"At the same time they are much wiser and we should be happy for
them as they will represent our country at the Euro-2008 play-offs."
