The Dutchman is said to be interested in Wolf's
services since Russian national team is short of defenders and the German
international could strengthen the squad ahead of Euro-2008 crunch games.
If everything gets its way, the 25-year-old Nurnberg defender could switch
his allegiance to the Russians and attain Russian passport.
Andreas Wolf was born in Tajikistan and arrived to Germany as immigrant
in 1990, the defender speaks Russian well so it won't be a problem to
settle up in the national team.
"I know that Guus Hiddink expressed his desire to see me in the Russian
national side, however I wouldn't like to discuss this matter", Wolf
comments to Sport Express.
"Moreover I didn't get any offers from their staff, so I try to focus
on my club's affairs only."
"It would be a great honor to play in the Russian national team,
so if I have an offer from them I would consider it carefully."
"I am desperate to take part in the European championship, and I
would be glad to show myself in Austria and Switzerland."
"Russia is a young and ambitious team with a number of talented players
such as Andrei Arshavin."
"I played against this halfback in the UEFA Cup in St. Petersburg
and it was very hard to oppose him."
