RUBIN: PREMIER LIGA SOLE LEADERS
A triumphal comeback victory over Zenit let Rubin Kazan take the sole
possession of the first place in the standings.

Premier Liga Day 3 completed this weekend introducing several
changes in the title race as Rubin strengthened atop of the table.
Zenit St. Petersburg suffered the first defeat in the Russian campaign
this season as they fell 1-3 victims to Rubin Kazan in St. Petersburg.
Andrei Arshavin opened the scoring giving the home side the lead, however
the visitors turned to be hard nut to crack.
Sergei Semak got his team back to action on the 76th minute and leveled
the score while his teammate Gekdeniz Karadeniz became the hero of the
game scoring twice to deliver the final blow to the Russian title-holders.
Dynamo and CSKA stay at two-points distance from Rubin as they both won
weekend games. Dynamo deprived Amkar of three points despite the Moscow
side was 1-0 behind after 14th minute, but Danni and Fernandez led their
club to 2-1 win.
Vagner Love was the only scorer in CSKA vs. Saturn battle.
Spartak were one step from surviving a defeat from Khimki, but Ignas Dedura's
late goal gave them only one point. Welliton found the target on the 6th
minute of the game while Nizamutdinov made a double and Czech scored once
to put his club ahead. Roman Pavlyuchenko improved to 3-2 through an accurate
strike from penalty spot and Dedura fired in the goal which leveled the
score.
Lokomotiv sealed a confident 2-0 win over Krylya Sovetov, Moskva suffered
an unexpected 1-2 away loss to Tom, Luch-Energiya were 1-0 stronger than
Shinnik and Terek grabbed the first win this season as they beat Spartak
Nalchik 2-1.
