Brazilian coach Carlos Alberto Parreira (pictured) is set
to quit as the coach of South Africa to spend more time with his sick
wife.
South African fans were hoping that the former World Cup winner could
mastermind a competitive assault on winning the 2010 tournament on home
soil.
But Bafana Bafana are now being left without a leader just two years before
they are due to host the world's biggest football festival.
So has this news put a stop to the South African party before it has had
a chance to start?
Has Parreira laid the foundations for a squad that can be competitive
in two years time?
Or were you disappointed with Bafana Bafana's performances at the Africa
Cup of Nations in Ghana and think this decision could be a blessing in
disguise?
Who should South Africa recruit to ensure that they can be competitive
in 2010 and can they bounce back from this?
