RUBIN RETAIN PREMIER LIGA LEADERSHIP
Rubin Kazan extended their winning streak to six games by defeating
Amkar on Sunday.

Premier Liga Matchday 6 program offered the Russian supporters
a hot weekend with two Moscow derbies.
CSKA and Lokomotiv battled through to earn a goalless draw while Moskva
and Dynamo also snatched one point on Saturday. Alexander Kerzhakov scored
his debut goal for the visiting side, but Epouryanu denied his effort
five minutes back from the break.
The race leaders Rubin Kazan extended their winning run to six games by
beating Amkar narrowly 1-0 through Sergei Semak's strike.
The title holders Zenit St. Petersburg faltered in Ramenskoe as they managed
to escape the loss only three minutes before the final whistle.
Saturn Brazilian defender Zelao opened the score closer to the end of
the first half, but the defending champions managed to get back to the
game to meet the deadline of the match thanks to Shirokov's goal.
Spartak Moscow snatched a comeback victory over Spartak Nalchik away.
The Moscow side were the first to concede, but found themselves strong
enough to fight back. Christian Maidana leveled the score three minutes
before the end of the first half while Brazilian striker Welliton fired
in the winner midway through the second period.
Krylya Sovetov snatched a convincing 3-0 victory over FC Tom with Savin,
Tikhonov and Bober scoring once each.
Terek grabbed three points at home clash against Luch-Energiya to keep
on the sixth place in the table. Kulik fired in an opener from the penalty
spot early in the game and Kuzmichev doubled the lead in added time of
the first half. The visitors replied with Shevchenko's late goal in the
second period.
The underdogs FC Khimki suffered the fourth defeat in the season as they
lost to Shinnik away 2-3.
