Russian national team head coach Guus Hiddink supporters
the RFU's decision to welcome Liechtenstein in St. Petersburg.
"The national team shouldn't always play in one city", said
Hiddink. "But the hosts should provide all necessary conditions for
matches. I think that pitch conditions at Zenit's hoe arena will be at
good state in September".
"We don't know where the national team will prepare for the qualifier
- in Moscow or St. Petersburg. On one hand we are used to work in Moscow,
however we don't want to ask Moskva or Dynamo to let us train on their
pitches again".
"The national team needs to get its own training base and I think
not only the first team's results. My contract will expire next year and
I would like Russian football to keep on growing".
"There are youth and junior national teams of different ages with
many talented players and it's necessary to help them develop their talents".
