Pavlyuchenko shuns transfer talk as Roma and Stuttgart
team up to bid for Tottenham striker
Russian in no rush: Roman Pavlyuchenko intends

Stuttgart are reportedly
preparing a complicated bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlycuhenko
that would see the striker end up at Roma.
The 27-year-old's agent admits he is listening to interest in the Russia
international, but insists Pavlyuchenko would prefer to stay in north
London.
Roma are currently unable to buy players because of a £260million
debt - though they hope for a financial breakthrough this week.
The company interested in buying the Serie A club have links to the ownership
of Stuttgart, according to reports in Russia, which could lead to the
Germans signing Pavlyuchenko and loaning him to Roma.
The player claims to have no knowledge of the interest.
'At the moment I'm switched off from football and news connected with
it,' said the former Spartak Moscow marksman. 'First we had a good rest
on the Cote d'Azur, and now I'm with my daughter in Sochi.
'I don't read newspapers, hardly look at the internet and nobody calls
me, thank god.'
His agent Oleg Artemov says he was misquoted by the Daily Mirror - which
claimed Pavlyuchenko had told him to find a new club - but explained he
was aware of interest.
'It was with surprise that I discovered all this fuss in the internet
about an interview I supposedly gave to the Daily Mirror,' Artemov told
Russian newspaper Sovetski Sport.
'In fact this is a loose translation of my words, taken out of context.
'I am in fact looking for new employment opportunities for Roman. However,
this is the everyday work of any agent - to seek out the best conditions
for a player.
'Both Roma and Stuttgart have made certain preliminary steps, although
matters have not yet come to offers or talks.
'Roman himself would like to stay in London and try to prove that he can
be very useful for Tottenham.'
Spurs are ready to cash in on a player they spent £13.8m on last
August as boss Harry Redknapp looks to raise funds for a summer spending
spree.
